Nassau, Bahamas — Governor General His Excellency Arthur D Hanna presents Dr Davidson Hepburn, President of the 35th session of the General Conference of UNESCO and Chairman of the Antiquities, Monuments & Museums Corporation of The Bahamas, with the Insignia of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, OBE at Government House, Thursday, February 25.

NORTH ANDROS, Bahamas — Two modern 4,200 square feet greenhouses have been ordered for farmers in North Andros, Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC), Executive Chairman, Edison M Key confirmed.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island – On February 16th the students, faculty and staff of Ross University Bahamas gathered to register as potential blood donors for the community of Grand Bahama. The initiative began through the coordination of two Ross medical students, Stacey O’Brien and Chris Hancock who are co-directors of the SMP Health Initiative at Ross, which sponsored the database registration and health fair.

Grouper Season opens March 1st

Nassau, Bahamas – The Department of Marine Resources wishes to advise the general public as to the opening of the Nassau Grouper (Epinephelus Striatus) season from March 1st, 2010 whereby fishers are permitted to harvest Nassau Grouper of weights greater than three (3) pounds. Fishers are reminded to adhere to all fisheries laws in order to ensure the sustainability of all the marine resources of The Bahamas.
