Nassau, Bahamas — The Government of The Bahamas is encouraging construction workers to focus on the quality of service they deliver. Public Works and Transport Minister the Hon Neko Grant said along with increasing opportunities for training, the Ministry is strengthening regulations in the construction industry with the introduction of a Contractors Bill.

Nassau, Bahamas – The Ministry of Public Works and Transport held a community meeting on April 26 to inform the public of the construction phase of road works at Marathon/Robinson Road and East Street corridors. The upgrade is a part of the New Providence Road Improvement Project which is a major component of the New Providence Transport Program designed to improve the road network by construction of new road corridors, reconstruction of existing road corridors and improvement of major intersections. Minister of Public Works and Transport the Hon Neko Grant, along with Environment Minister the Hon Earl Deveaux, and Minister of National Security the Hon Tommy Turnquest, addressed the audience comprising of business owners and residents.

Nassau, Bahamas — Officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force will be out in full force to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the construction phase of the one-way system for Baillou Hill Road and Market Street confirmed Sergeant Garland Rolle of the Traffic Division. “All uniformed police officers working on the island of New Providence will be involved with maintaining law and order in this area and for other road works going on in New Providence,” said Sgt Rolle. “Any officer in a patrol or motorcycle unit, once in uniform, understands his/her responsibility to enforce the laws of The Bahamas…”
