Grand Bahama participates in Bahamas Rugby U19 trials

On Saturday 3rd July, the Freeport U19 rugby team traveled to Nassau to play in, for most of the players, their first ever competitive match. The day also was to be used as a trial for the Bahamas U19 team. The players fortunate to be selected will go on to represent The Bahamas in the Caribbean Championships this August

Freeport Council Acknowledges Achievements for the Year

Freeport, Grand Bahama – The City of Freeport Council held its Annual Town Meeting Tuesday, June 22 at the Christ the King Anglican Hall, on its accomplishments for the year. Chief Councillor, Cornelius Alvin Smith Jr., in opening remarks on his stewardship said the first challenge faced was the reality of a significant reduction of $220,000, or a loss of 16 percent of the previous overall budget. The figure of $1,129,950 represents the lowest budget allocation in the 14-year history of the City of Freeport Council
